JUSTIN JAY
Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer Justin Jay has earned his spot as one of the most promising acts on the forefront of modern dance music. The 24 year old artist has seen success that most musicians don’t see in an entire career, having released on tastemaker labels such as DIRTYBIRD, Southern Fried Records, Culprit, Soul Clap Records and more. Jay is supported by some of the most prolific artists in electronic music including Claude VonStroke, Disclosure, and Tiga while garnering cosigns from the likes of Pete Tong and more. In 2016, Justin released his Fantastic Voyage album which served as a monumental step for Justin’s career as an artist. Fantastic Voyage has since coalesced into a label, supporting a freewheeling ecosystem Jay and friends created around their musical undergrad program at USC, and releasing a much supported (KCRW, Thump) EP from multi-instrumentalist Sam Von Horn, the debut release of Fritz Carlton’s House Boy alias and a highly acclaimed release from DIRTYBIRD staple, Ardalan. Since Justin’s graduation from University of Southern California in 2015, and after having performed at high profile venues including The Lab LA, Q Nightclub Seattle, and Public Works San Francisco, Justin made his departure from club culture and started to hone in on his songwriting abilities. He began to shamelessly incorporate live instrumentation into not only his productions, but live performances as well. Justin Jay’s productions are often dark, minimalistic and grungy, while some still maintain an uplifting tinge; he has proven his versatility and artistic maturity with the release of his singles ‘Make You Mine’ and ‘What Do You Want’ which amassed millions of streams on Spotify alone. Justin continues to provide worldwide fans with his musically profound writing and intricate productions - he is proving to finish off 2017 strong following the release of his album, Home.
